Despite the opening of Bollywood movie gangs of Wadsseypur 2 and Hollywood movie The Bourne Legacy this weekened, regional cinema ruled the box office. Even at weekened parties, UK Punjabi songs scored over the Bollywood and Hollywood mix. The songs of coke studio like Jugni made the crowd tap their feet to the music as DJ rash from New Delhi was spinning the console at The BrewMaster mirobrewery and restaurant. The drinks and the variety in the food menu made the party the talk of the town as it was a treat for food lovers and party freaks alike.
DJ Rash, real name Rustam Paul, has loved music since his childhood and is rocking parties of youngsters and clubs for the last 12 years. DJ Rash feels that if a crowd is good then one can perform at his best. He found the crowd of Ludhiana very energetic and happening, saying they wanted more than that every song should be from Bollywood or Hollywood.
He said there is a basic difference between the crowd of Ludhiana and Delhi as the crowd in Ludhiana is good and energetic as they are choosy about hearing songs, unlike in Delhi.
A graduate from Delhi who started performing at the age of 18, the DJ said he has performed with celebs like Bally Sagoo, DJ Aqeel, Ashok Masti, Nikhil Chinnapa and others. He said he has performed at various clubs, bars, restaurants and hotels in Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and New Delhi, his home town. He said he has also performed at international level in Bangkok, Singapore and Dubai and his best performance was in Bangkok. He said, “My dream is to play in Europe. When I play Bollwood and UK punjabi songs crowds demand encores and several requests rush in, which is very satisfying for him.”
