To relive the memories of their wedding day, Sahil and Ruhi Jain of Barat nagar Chownk, threw a party for friends and family at a hotel on Ferozpur Road on Thursday. Around 20 couples from the city joined to celebrate the first anniversary of the couple.
Elated with the fact that their wedding day coincides with Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday, Sahil said, ‘We had oranized a dinner and dance party to celebrate our first marriage where around 20 couples, mostly relatives and friends, attended the function. The Party coinceded with the birthday of Big B so we jived to all his hit songs. The best part was that the restaurant also went a step further and served dishes named after the superstar.”
Kunj Garg, 27, a businesswoman of Bharat Nagar Chownk and the couple’s friend, said, “We had loads of fun at the party. I loved the food served at the party, especially the dishes named ‘Zanjeer noodles’, ‘Kalia dal makhani’ and ‘Don veg’. We also danced to hit the tracks of AB, including ‘Khaike paan Banaras waala’ and ‘Apni to jaise taise’.” Sahil’s sister Sheenam and brother-in-law Paras Aggarwal had specially come fromAmritsar for the party.
A die-hard fan of Big B, Varun Gupta of Club Road said, “It was a classical party – and the music was electrifying. I had to literally drag myself out of the dance floor as I was enjoying so much.”
Huzoor Ahmad, general manager of the restaurant , said, “Since it was AB’s birthday so we came up with a buffet named after his movies. We had ‘Zanjeer noodles’, ‘Kalia dal makhani’, ‘Don veg’, ‘Akhri Rasta pasta’, ‘Special Sharabi mocktails’, ‘Deewar salads’ and ‘Kalicharan gulab jamun’. DJ Elton Creado also added a spark to the celebrarions with his music mix on popular dance numbers of Big B.”
